The Friends of Robert Owen House
An Isle of Man Registered Charity, number 839
Robert Owen House is managed by a separate Trust and must raise its’ own funds to enable it to function year on year.
No Government or NHS money is provided to finance the yearly overheads. The House relies for its’ income solely on the modest overnight room charge, donations, legacies and fund raising.
No matter how large or small, your donations make a difference. Without the generosity of donors much of the ongoing upkeep and continuing improvements at the ‘Safe Haven In Time Of Need’ Robert Owen House would not be possible.
Making A Donation
One-off donations can be made by sending a cheque made out to ‘Friends of Robert Owen House’
to Ballaglass, Eleanora Drive, Douglas, Isle of Man IM2 3NN. (Please do not send cash)
There are a number of different ways you can make donations to our Charity:
Home Collection Boxes We have small home ‘house style’ collection boxes that you can place strategically in your home and put in any loose change you don’t want to carry round with you. It’s amazing how it builds up! The idea is that, once full, you bank the cash, write us a cheque for the amount collected and mail it to our office! If you would like a box, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donations In Lieu....... In recent years we have been very grateful to more and more people who have used a number of ways to personally raise money for our charity.
People celebrating ‘special’ birthdays, anniversaries, retirement or promotion at work have requested donations instead of gifts /presents to be made to our cause.
Quite a number have organised either a lunch or buffet to celebrate their special occasion and all money received has come to us.
Donations in lieu of sending Christmas cards have shown an increase as have donations in lieu of Christmas presents.
On a sad note we are extremely grateful that at a time of real sadness in a family when a loved one passes away, the family ask for donations in lieu of flowers to come our way. All donations are acknowledged, as are those from donations left in wills.
Committed or Regular giving is one of the most valuable and consistent ways to support us.
Giving regularly creates a continuing income stream and enhances our organisation’s sustainability,
providing us with the opportunity to plan for the longer term.
Committed giving is very simple by regular ‘standing order’. To find out more about the scheme please contact us on 01624 672251, or set up a standing order by printing off the standing order form and return it to fundraising office (address above).
Donations By Text. You can use our ‘donation by text’ system through Just Giving and Vodaphone. Simply text ‘FROH01 £10’ to 70070 to donate £10 (or any other amount). This will appear on your mobile phone account.
Whilst you are reading our web site and deciding which way to help us, please remember there will be people staying in our House, in a state of trauma, whilst a loved one is undergoing major life-saving treatment across the path in one of Britain’s top heart-lung-thoracic hospitals. That’s why they need your help.
